I started Rooted Objects because I wanted to bet on people needing real, tangible and analog objects in this AI world. I hope to reimagine what a well-made ceramic object can look like and the function it can serve.
True luxury is in craftsmanship. All objects are made by me.
My childhood experiences drive me. I think I’ll be navigating my relationship with my parents forever and that influences my work a lot.
I love playing with colour. I dream up each object in colour first and then experiment with glazes till it's real. The form is always loose and undone so that the focus remains on the glaze.
I want you to hold these objects and take comfort in their tactile nature. You will hopefully say “That’s nice to hold”.
I also strive to make pieces that you will use all the time (and use well) and still last you a lifetime. The cherry on top would be to see it at an antique store decades later being cherished by another generation.
